Crispy Oven "Fried" Turkey Chops
In an effort to remain ever conscious of eating healthily without sacrificing taste, I used this recipe. Baking the chops is healthier than pan frying them in oil.
INGREDIENTS
1.25 pounds of Turkey Chops
1 well beaten egg
1/2 french fried onions
1/4 cup Panko Flakes
1 tsp Lawry's Seasoning Salt
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
1 tbsp Oil (I used Canola)
DIRECTIONS
Breading
1. Assemble coarse breading mixture.
2. Add french fried onions to a plastic bag.
3. Crush them with a pastry roller.
4. To a medium bowl, add Panko, french fried crumbs, seasoning salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and black pepper. Mix well. Add oil. Mix well.
5. Coat chops with well beaten egg mixture.
6. Bread with coarse breading mixture.
7. Cook at 425 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes depending on the thickness of your chops.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteHow easily can you find turkey chops? I've never seen them before but this recipe looks delicious. By the way, I love your blog. I love to cook but I'm also on a budget, so I find that your blog is awesome, plus, I'm getting ready to start a diet plan and I love that your don't use a lot of salt...so yeah girl, you're better than Food Network. :-)
ReplyDelete@ Ms. D...I have not had any problems finding turkey chops in my local markets. One of my favorite markets has a "Halal" section. The turkey chops are near there or adjacent to the chicken. You can inquire @ the butcher section if you do not see them out. I believe the cut across the grain of the thigh while the meat is frozen. You may ask the butcher in your market to cut your meat for you. This may mean placing your order ahead of time though.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the compliments. I am working hard to not use a ton of salt. Sea Salt is said to be less salty than traditional boxed brands. *blushing* about "better than Food Network. LOL Somex it's "crickets" over here, so it means a lot to me that you took the time to commment. Thank you!
